SBA InnovateHer will award $70,000 to three women-owned businesses. First place will receive $40,000, second place will receive $20,000, and third place will receive $10,000.
InnovateHER provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs throughout the U.S. to showcase products and services that have a measurable impact on the lives of women and families (30%), have the potential for commercialization (40%), and fill a need in the marketplace (30%).
About the NYC Judges
Saeed Jabaar, Executive Director at Inclusion
Inclusion is a non-profit designed to close the digital divide in NYC. Trainings provided by Inclusion has helped dozens of individuals to learn the necessary skills to find employment or start their own businesses. Jabaar has volunteered his time to assist SBA InnovateHER because of his commitment to assisting underrepresented groups achieve their potential.
Busayo Odunlami, Chief Operating Officer at Venture Smarter
Venture Smarter is developing the VSPortal platform that leverages advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide planners the tools and resources needed to manage large-scale operations. Busayo, who is also a consultant with the World Bank, has joined Venture Smarter to help leverage their capacity to provide their services to state and local government. He has volunteered his time and expertise to assist SBA InnovateHER, because of his commitment to help women entrepreneurs.
Ebonique Ellis, Chief Executive Officer at Good Management & Investments
Good Management & Investments is a company focused on providing financial education and business consulting in nontraditional areas. Ebonique has previously worked in political and grassroots advocacy supporting small business growth. She has volunteered her time and expertise to assist SBA InnovateHER, because entrpreneurs women deserve to be supported.
Prepare Your Pitch Deck & Business Plan
Our organization intends to prepare women who would like to compete by participating in our entrepreneurship course. However, participation in our course is not required to compete during our pitch competition.
Our entrepreneurship course is a two-day program that provides women and men the tools to put together a successful business plan and pitch deck. You will have the opportunity to work with local angel investors and business leaders to successfully build your business. We also provide scholarships.
